How to: charcoal for skincare
Charcoal has become a “go-to” beauty product as of late, and its benefits for skin care are undisputed. When you wear charcoal on your face as a mask, it acts like a magnet to attract and absorb dirt and oil. All of this gunk gets washed away when you rinse. Additionally, it is gentler on the skin than many other ingredients used in masks, so if you have sensitive or dry skin, charcoal might be a great benefit to your skincare regimen.
You can use activated charcoal internally to detoxify, aid digestion, and even alleviate hangovers – although you have to purchase the kind that is intended for internal use.
You can also use it to brush your teeth! Find activated charcoal powder that is meant for this purpose and mix with water until it is a thick enough consistency that it will stay on your toothbrush. Brush your teeth with the charcoal/water mixture gently or even just dab it onto your teeth. Wait three minutes before rinsing. This can help remove stains from your teeth.
