Earlier this month, we held our debut event on Zulily.com where we offered customers 50% off of our items. We were super excited about it and our products performed well. It was an amazing opportunity to introduce our brand to a new audience.
Unfortunately, though, we made the tough call to cancel our order with Zulily. Which means that if you ordered from the Zulily sale, you will be refunded and you will not receive your products.
First and foremost, we want to apologize for the inconvenience. We messed up big time and want to take full responsibility for what happened. And if you ordered from that sale, we want an opportunity to make it right.
When I started this company 20 months ago from my kitchen in San Diego, California, I had no idea that we’d grow as fast as we did. That is a good problem to have. But it also comes with a lot of challenges.
We’re a small team. There’s just seven of us, myself included. And only two of us work here full-time. And although we’re raising a seed round of funding, we’re bootstrapped, which means our capital is limited.
On top of that, we outsource our shipping & fulfillment now. Which means that the core team doesn’t always have full control over your shipments anymore. And that’s ultimately why we had to cancel our order with Zulily. I won’t go into the minute (and painful) details of what happened, because at the end of the day, all that matters is that you get your orders fulfilled on time. But I will share that we had an issue with our warehouse that we learned from, and it will never happen again. Ultimately, this was “our bad” and we’re completely and utterly mortified about it. (If for some reason you DO want to know the full details of what happened, let us know and we will gladly share).
Here’s how we want to make it right:
If you ordered through Zulily.com during our first event and would like to give us a shot, please forward your Zulily receipt to info @ frommollywithlove.com. We’ll be accepting orders from Zulily customers through the end of the week.
Here’s what you can expect from this moment moving forward through this process:
- This week, submit your Zulily receipt to info @ frommollywithlove.com
- Next week, we’ll reach out with your totals and coordinate payment – shipping is on us, just pay what you would have paid Zulily.
- Your items will ship by the end of next week.
On behalf of the entire team, thank you for your interest in our products. We make every single one by hand and with love, and we are excited to get them to you. More than that, thank you for the opportunity for us to make this right. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome you into our family, and we hope you’ll stay awhile.
WOW, what a way to start, but I also have had 2 companies and baby steps are probably the best advice I can offer. It great to have lots of sales day one but you have to develop trust, confidence and have a ton of faith that everything happens for a reason. I am no longer in my own business because I couldn’t do it all and in the end, the main source of my products betrayed me. At time the pain is still there but I have learned for forgive, walk forward and enjoy my life and blessings, because there are blessings each and every day. I will continue to buy from you and look forward to a long relationship with your products. Wishing you the very best.
